DNA GrowBaby
What is GrowBaby?
The GrowBaby DNA test is designed to enable practitioners to gain powerful insights that support maternal health from preconception onwards and to optimise the chances of a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
What health areas does it cover?
The genes covered by the GrowBaby test are selected based on multiple peer-reviewed studies that show how variations in these genes can contribute to health outcomes that affect maternal and baby health throughout the pregnancy journey.
It reports on 42 SNPs involved in 11 biological processes associated with maternal health risks and fatal phenotypes.
It provides insights into factors affecting risks, including:
- Preterm births and large or small baby size for gestational age
- Recurrent pregnancy loss
- Pre-eclampsia
- Gestational / pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Gestational diabetes
- Miscarriage
- Stress dysregulation phenotype
- Neural tube defect’s
Who is the test for?
GrowBaby is valuable for newly pregnant mums and mums-to-be. It can help optimise the chances of pregnancy as well as ensure a healthy pregnancy journey from pre-conception through to birth.
Which other tests does GrowBaby pair with?
Growbaby is a comprehensive test for mom-to-be that pairs with a wide array of other functional tests. These include:
- Organic acids
- Fatty acids
- Vitamin D
- GI Map & other stool testing
- Methylation panel
- Hormones
- Cardiometabolic profile
- Environmental toxin exposure and essential elements
Also consider testing the above functional tests for the dad-to-be, together with DNA Core.

How does it work?
A BloodSpot Analysis test kit will be sent to you by mail. All it requires is a few drops of blood from one of your fingers. Once completed, a booking can be made with the designated courier to collect the kit (with no additional charges), which will be delivered to the laboratory for testing.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
All test kits are shipped and are expected to arrive within a few working days. The shipped test kits are considered concluded orders and are non-refundable any longer.
Average processing time:
18-21 days, after the test kits are returned to the lab. Return tests to the lab within 90 days of the order.
How do I take a sample?
All kits include straightforward instructions, allowing you to obtain a sample at home easily.
Are the tests reliable?
Yes! We use leading accredited laboratories to ensure that our testing is of the highest quality.
What will I receive after the test has been processed?
A report will then be generated with detailed information about the tested areas and recommended interventions. The report is presented in a patient-friendly manner so you can understand the possible issues and act upon the clearly formulated recommendations. You will be provided with a secure login on the lab platforms to view and download the results.
What happens after I receive the results?
You will be presented with the option to book an appointment with the doctor to further discuss the test results. The appointment will last about 30-60 minutes (includes the time the doctor needs to study the results), during which professional interpretation, further advice, and a possible therapeutic plan, based on your results, will be provided.
Privacy policy:
The DNA and the original sample material are destroyed after 3 months, so that there are no names or other identifiers on the samples. The samples are analysed only for the SNPs that are included in the tests at DNALife, and no other research or analyses are performed without separate permission from the patient. We do not give or sell the results to any third parties.
Important note:
Send us through the Contact Form (typed in the Comment field) your birthday, as well as your weight and height. This data is a requirement for the lab analysis.
