GI Map - Gut Microbial Test
GI Map - Gut Microbial Test
The Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus (GI-MAP) was designed to assess a patient’s microbiome from a single stool sample, with particular attention to microbes that may be disturbing normal microbial balance and may contribute to perturbations in the gastrointestinal (GI) flora or illness.
The panel is a comprehensive collection of microbial targets as well as immune and digestive markers, and relies exclusively on quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology to detect parasites, bacteria, fungi, and more by targeting the specific DNA of the organisms tested.
Zonulin has been identified as a key biomarker for intestinal permeability, which has been associated with celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), and other GI and systemic conditions.
Indications
- Autoimmune molecular mimicry (if caused by pathogens)
- Diarrhea
- Digestion
- Foodborne illness
- Gastritis
- Gastroenteritis (if it has viral causes)
- Gut dysbiosis
- Immunity
- Inflammation
- Leaky gut
- Celiac disease/gluten sensitivity
- Suspected bacterial, parasitic, or viral pathogenesis (incl. detection of antibiotic-resistant bacteria)

How does it work?
A Stool Analysis test kit will be sent to you by mail. Once completed, a booking can be made with the designated courier to collect the kit (with no additional charges), which will be delivered to the laboratory for testing.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
All test kits are shipped and are expected to arrive within a few working days. The shipped test kits are considered concluded orders and are non-refundable any longer.
Average processing time:
18-21 days, after the test kits are returned to the lab. Return tests to the lab within 90 days of the order.
How do I take a sample?
All kits include straightforward instructions, allowing you to obtain a sample at home easily.
Are the tests reliable?
Yes! We use leading accredited laboratories to ensure that our testing is of the highest quality.
What will I receive after the test has been processed?
A report will then be generated with detailed information about the tested areas and recommended interventions. This test requires specialized knowledge for interpretation. You will be provided with a secure login on the lab platforms to view and download the results.
What happens after I receive the results?
You will be presented with the option to book an appointment with the doctor to further discuss the test results. The appointment will last about 30-60 minutes (includes the time the doctor needs to study the results), during which professional interpretation, further advice, and a possible therapeutic plan, based on your results, will be provided.
Privacy policy:
The original sample material is destroyed after 3 months, so that there are no names or other identifiers on the samples. No other research or analyses are performed without separate permission from the patient. We do not give or sell the results to any third parties.
Important note:
Send us through the Contact Form (typed in the Comment field) your birthday, as well as your weight and height. This data is a requirement for the lab analysis.
